A Healing Approach

“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity,” Pema Chödrön

You have the power to transform your mind and live a life you never want to escape from. I believe in your potential to live a life with freedom, joy and inner peace.

Who do I work with?

Anyone ready to invest time and energy in themselves, willing to do the inner work to experience freedom and growth. Freedom from outdated beliefs, coping mechanisms, addictions and patterns of behavior.  You may already be on a recovery or healing journey. Or perhaps you have a lot of anxiety, a pattern of sacrificing your needs for others, or maybe you a have a harsh inner critic.  There might be a lack of fulfillment or dissatisfaction with life, or perhaps you have an awareness that something is holding you back from fulfilling your true potential.

How do I work?

I work with the Compassionate Inquiry approach, developed by Dr Gabor Mate.  Using this approach I will always see you as a whole person, who doesn’t need fixing. I will see the potential in you even if you don’t see it yourself. Despite your wounds, your behaviors or your addictions there is the possibility to heal and recover.  You have the potential to live a more joyful life, where you can really thrive. The sessions we have together will vary depending on your needs.  I am here to partner and guide you, you are in the lead with me coming alongside.  You might want time to talk at first, space to be heard and really understood. I will create a compassionate, non judgmental space for that to happen and when you’re ready we will move into an Inquiry.  I will be completely present and ‘with you’ every step of the way, creating that safe container for your emotions to be felt and expressed, which is where the magic happens. When you feel and express what has been suppressed, the healing can happen. It’s through the Inquiry journey that you’ll be able to make the unconscious conscious and uncover the out dated core beliefs that you’ve been living from.  Change begins with awareness and with that awareness you can begin to make different choices.

Deep listening is the kind of listening that can help relieve the suffering of another person. You can call it compassionate listening. You listen with only one purpose: to help him or her to empty his heart.

COMPASSIONATE INQUIRY

One of the things that sets Compassionate Inquiry apart from traditional therapy, is that it’s a somatic (body) based approach, that means we tune in to and listen to the wisdom of your body. Once you’ve had enough time and space to share what’s on your mind, we let the body do the talking, becoming aware of what is present. During these one to one sessions you will be held with gentleness, compassion, and non-judgement in order to…

  • Become more present in your life.
  • Connect with the wisdom of your body.
  • Access emotional states through awareness of your body.
  • Understand what is not being expressed and why.
  • Gain awareness of your beliefs, sensations, emotions and interpretations.
  • Feel and release what has been suppressed.
  • Give voice to what remains unexpressed.
  • Understand your behavioral patterns and habits and addictions.
  • Discover and nurture your authentic self.
  • Connect to your truth and power in the present moment.
  • Become free from self-generated suffering and gain insight,
clarity, and choice in your behavior.
